DV Safety Pod’s (DVSP) team has dedicated years of research & development to produce the Safest & Fastest means of escape from the tubing board.

DVSP had realized that in a critical situation a worker can become disorientated & panic stricken. Our approach was and still is to eliminate the need to connect & disconnect the overhead fall arrest system & the work positioning lanyard. This was accomplished by a patented & engineered davit system that is integral to the safety pod.

A cable descent system was first used as the speed regulating device. Due to certain limitations DVSP proceeded to develop our own descent control that has proven to accent the safety pod system. The rapid egress descent system removes the restrictions & increases the performance of the DV Safety Pod.

In a critical situation, The DV Safety Pod simply requires the derrickhand to step into the pod, this takes under 3 seconds. The pod launches & the automatic braking system takes over and gets the worker safely to the ground in approximately 20 seconds.

DV Safety Pod designed this emergency egress system to be simple to use. An added feature is its capability for multiple runs. Confidence through repetition can be achieved when training personnel in the  use of the safety pod. Some of our customers achieve this by implementing this info to their BOP drills or at the time of rig in & rig out.

The D.V. Safety Pod is the safest, fastest way for a derrickhand get from the tubing board to the ground in an emergency as per CAODC Recommended Practice 9.0.
